Hand Pulled He Nan Noodles @ He Nan Flavor
Kit and I had heard about HE NAN FLAVOR ( 68B Forsyth St Btwn Grand and Hester) through my friend and fellow food Blogger @justcooknyc
I love hand pulled noodles and I if you know even a small amount about me you know that I am obsessed with anything to do with asian food.
This small hideaway across from Sarah D Roosevelt Park is the first Manhattan outpost of Flushing’s Henan Feng Wei.
Henan is a central province of China and like my other favorite Xian Famous Foods offers a different side to Chinese cuisine with lamb, spices like cumin and anise and sometimes intense heat among their menus.
Kit and I ordered a few things and shared the delights.
Pancake with Pork
Crispy Pancake w/ sesame seeds and spicy and tasty shredded pork and cilantro.
Chicken Hui Mei - Which the lady who owns the place mentioned is a new menu item. Rich and spicy broth with stew chicken on the bone and chewy hand pulled noodles. The broth has lots going on with unique spices and a great depth of flavor.
Beef Brisket Hand Pulled Noodles - Kit’s noodles had a lovely mild almost milky looking broth which he immediately turned bright pink with Sriracha. This soup had seaweed and thin glass noodles as well which added texture to the hand pulled noodles.

We both were slurping up out noodles like pros. Delicious and comforting.

Wonderfully attentive and friendly service. The lady working made sure we were enjoying everything and even asked where we lived to see whether they could offer delivery to us. Very sweet.
We’ll definitely be back…..
